Troops Rescue 58 People In 2 Days


Troops operating in the North-East have rescued 58 people abducted by terrorists in the last two days, including 35 women and 23 children.

 The Director of Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen. Sani Usman, said in a statement on Sunday that the victims were rescued during raids carried out by 112 Task Force Battalion of 22 Brigade of the Operation Lafiya Dole.

Usman said the raids, patrols and clearance operations were carried out by the troops in conjunction with civilian JTF in villages and towns in Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno.

No deal in talks to persuade Gambian leader to step down

No deal was reached Friday in last-ditch attempts by a regional mediation team to persuade Gambia's longtime leader to step down, and while mediation will continue, the inauguration next week of the elected opposition coalition leader will go forward, the spokesman for coalition said.
"This crisis has not been solved by these talks," said spokesman Halifa Sallah, adding that more efforts are needed to narrow differences.
Sallah spoke after Nigeria's president led talks Friday with Gambia's President Yahya Jammeh and President-elect Adama Barrow in Gambia as part of mediation efforts led by the West African regional bloc ECOWAS.

Teenager Finally Meets Biological Parents After 18 YEARS Of Being Kidnapped


Alexis Kelli Manigo - the teenager snatched at birth - has finally met her biological parents after 18 YEARS.

She found out only on Friday her real name is actually Kamiyah Mobley when then woman she had known all her life as her mother, Gloria Williams, was arrested for kidnapping.

It has now emerged that Gloria 'suffered a miscarriage week before the baby was taken'.

Last night she met her real parents Shanara Mobley and Craig Aiken in South Carolina.

All three beamed wide smiles as they posed for a selfie - a family photo 48hrs ago none of them could have ever dreamed of.

Mum Shanara - who last saw her daughter in hospital when she was eight hours old in July 1998 and taken by someone posing as a nurse - looked close to tears.

The half-brother of Prince Harry’s actress girlfriend has been charged after allegedly holding a gun to his girlfriend’s head following a drunken argument.

Thomas Markle Jr – whose half-sister Meghan has been dating the young Prince for several months – was arrested late on Thursday at the home he shares with his girlfriend of two months, Darlene Blount, in Grants Pass, Oregon.

The 50-year-old, whose father Thomas Markle Sr is also Meghan’s dad, was taken into custody after the row which is said to have escalated into violence.

12 Die In Oyo-Ogbomoso Auto Crash As Bus Plunges Into River

No fewer than 12  people reportedly died in an  accident on Oyo/Ogbomoso Road when a commuter bus skidded off the road and plunged into Odo-Oba River yesterday.
 According to  eye witnesses, the accident occurred when the bus was trying to avoid a head on collision with an articulated vehicle that lost control and veered off its lane.
Oyo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Mr Yusuf Salami and the Police Public Relations Officer, Oyo State Command, SP Adekunle Ajisebutu, confirmed the accident.

The male caller’s voice as he spoke to the emergency operator sounded hysterical and desperate.

"I don’t know what’s wrong with her, but she’s drowning in her own blood!" he cried.

 Daniel Politte, 30, begged for an ambulance for his wife Stephanie.

"I’m afraid she’s gonna die," he exclaimed, as Stephanie could be heard fighting for breath in the background.

It was a race against time as the paramedics sped to their home, blue lights flashing.
