Photos/Video: Nigerian Air Force destroys militant's illegal oil storage facility in Rivers state

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Wednesday destroyed an illegal oil storage facility belonging to militants in Rivers State.

The facility which was located about 25km south of Opubiri, was destroyed about 4:45pm by a NAF helicopter on armed patrol over creeks around Opubiri, Bille and Alakiri areas. Another canoe, carrying drums filled with suspected stolen petroleum products, was also attacked at Alakiri creek. Watch the video after the cut.

Souther Kaduna: You are hypocrites- CAN tells Imams calling for their arrest

Few dayas ago, the Council of Imams and Ulama in Kaduna state, held a press conference where they called for the arrest of some Christian religious leaders including CAN President, over some of the comments he has made on the lingering Southern Kaduna crisis

CAN in a statement released yesterday, described the Islamic clerics as hypocrites for turning blind eyes to the real issues that have continuously caused the crisis. The statement signed by the Secretary General of CAN, Rev. Musa Asake reads in part;

Photos: Aggrieved lover sentenced to 12 years in jail for slitting his girlfriend's throat in Adamawa

A Yobe state magistrate court has sentenced Luka Shuaibu pictured right, a student of the department of leisure and tourism, Adamawa state polytechnic, Yola, to 12 years in jail, for attempting to murder his ex-girlfriend, Ishaya, a diploma 2 student of the same department, over fears that she was about to dump him for a richer man.

The attack happened on November 9th within the school premises. Luka saw Ishaya, his girlfriend of two years, alighting from the car of another man. He ambushed her by her hostel, beat her up and then slit her throat with a knife.

Multiple Bomb blast in Adamawa

Many people are feared dead after three bombs went off at a crowded motorpark in Adamawa state this morning. The attack is believed to have been carried out by suspected Boko Haram members. The state police command have cordoned off the area. Casualty figure is yet unknown.
