DSS arrests four fleeing Boko Haram members in Lagos, a commander at Okene, Kogi State


The Department of State Security Service (DSS) have arrested four fleeing Boko Haram members in Oko-Oba ,Ifako-Ijaye LGA of Lagos State and a commander of the terror group in Okene, Kogi State.
A statement signed by its spokesperson, Tony Opuiyo, said the terrorists were nabbed Tuesday, January 10th, after they fled their locations in the North East as a result of the the ongoing military operations.

Ray J kicked off Celebrity Big Brother after being hospitalized amidst claims of neglect


Ray J is in the hospital and angry at UK "Celebrity Big Brother" for letting him suffer for days in extreme pain to the point he blacked out before getting any medical assistance. After his complaint of neglect, he got kicked out of the house just 1 week after the show started.
According to  TMZ, 3 days ago, Ray J developed "extreme tooth pain" and complained to cast members and producers about his pain.

NSCDC discover 'Count down Timers' used by Boko Haram to detonate explosives in Borno

The Borno Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) said it has discovered "Count down Timers" used by Boko Haram terrorists to detonate explosives. The Commandant of the corps, Mr Ibrahim Abdullahi, who disclosed this on Tuesday in Maiduguri said that the instruments were discovered by men of the Disaster Management Unit of the command at the scene of Sunday’s bomb blast in Kalari area of the state capital.

Suicide bombers kill at least 23 in Kabul, Afghanistan


No fewer than 23 people have been killed following twin blasts in Kabul, Afghanistan on Tuesday. The first explosion reportedly happened outside the country’s parliament and was caused by a suicide bomber on foot. The second explosion was caused by a car bomb parked outside the parliament.
At the moment, the total number of casualties cannot be ascertained, but it is confirmed that civilians and military personnel were among those killed.

Gambian President's Options to Stay in Office Shrinking

 Gambian President Yahya Jammeh’s options to stay in office may be shrinking. The five judges from Nigeria and Sierra Leone needed to constitute the Gambian Supreme Court did not come to Banjul for Tuesday's scheduled hearing. The session was called to weigh in on President Jammeh’s request to nullify December’s election results. The international community has already recognized President-elect Adama Barrow as the winner and called on Jammeh to step down. The head of Gambia’s Bar Association says the hearing has been rescheduled for next Monday, There has been no confirmation from the judges that they will show up for that date, which comes just three days before Barrow’s inauguration.

Many were emotional while witnessing President Barack Obama make his farewell address, including the commander-in-chief himself.
Obama pulled out his handkerchief and wiped his eyes when speaking about his wife of 25 years, First Lady Michelle Obama.
“Michelle – Michelle LaVaughn Robinson, girl of the Southside, for the past 25 years, you’ve been not only my wife and mother of my children, but my best friend,” the president said. 
Adding, “You took on a role you didn’t ask for and made it your own with grace and grit and style and good humor. You made the White House a place that belongs to everybody.
