The "Tree man" is no longer. Thanks to some groundbreaking surgeries, he can go back to being Abul Bajandar, a 27-year-old father and husband from a small town in Bangladesh.
Bajandar suffered from a rare condition that caused his hands to sprout tree-like warts. He lived with it for years 

Kyari never used funds from the Nigerian High Commission's office in the UK for medical treatment- Presidency


The presidency has denied a publication by Sahara Reporters where it alleged that the Chief of Staff to President Buhari, Abba Kyari, used funds from the Nigeria High Commission in the UK to settle his medical bills during his last visit to the country in December last year.


Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to President Buhari, Shehu Garba, denied the claims in a statement released on social media. The Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, did not use the funds of the Nigeria High Commission in London to pay his medical bills during his recent visit for emergency medical treatment.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie release first joint statement over divorce case

Hollywood actors, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie released their first joint statement Monday January 9, 2017. In the statement, the estranged couple agreed to seal all court documents pertaining to their divorce in order to protect their six children.
"The parties and their counsel have signed agreements to preserve the privacy rights of their children and family by keeping all court documents confidential and engaging a private judge to make any necessary legal decisions and to facilitate the expeditious resolution of any remaining issues.

Trump's Son-In-Law, Jared Kushner, To Join White House As Senior Adviser


President-elect Donald J. Trump announced Monday that Jared Kushner will serve as Senior Advisor to the President. 

“It is an honor to serve our country,” Kushner said in a statement. “I am energized by the shared passion of the President-elect and the American people and I am humbled by the opportunity to join this very talented team.”

Kushner, a real estate developer, is married to Ivanka Trump and has been considered a close adviser to Trump during his campaign and transition.

Adeboye: FG Fires Jim Obazee, FRCN Boss


The Federal Government, yesterday, effected a major shake-up in the boards of some public institutions, sweeping away the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, FRCN, Mr Jim Osayande Obazee. 

FRCN, one of the parastatals under the supervision of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, was the principal actor in the controversial exit of Pastor Enoch Adeboye as the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church God, RCCG, Nigeria, last weekend. 

The Council is responsible for setting and promoting compliance with standards for accounting, financial reporting and auditing in Nigeria, under which it created its controversial Code of Corporate Governance, now also suspended by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Okechukwu Enalema. 

Nigeria's Adebanwi Named Rhodes Professor At Oxford University


Wale Adebanwi, a Nigerian scholar, has been appointed to the prestigious Rhodes Professorship in Race Relations in the School of Interdisciplinary Area Studies at the University of Oxford, United Kingdom.

Adebanwi, who is a professor at the University of California, Davis, United States, will also be a Fellow of St Anthony’s College, Oxford, effective July 1 and the next Director of the African Studies Centre of Britain’s oldest university.

The Rhodes Professorship in Race Relations is named for Cecil Rhodes, British businessman, mining magnate and politician in South Africa who served as Prime Minister of Cape Colony from 1890-1896. The professorship was established by the Rhodesian Selection Trust Mining Company in 1954.
