Nigerians condemn Pretty Mike for using Dog Chains on girls


More people have seen the viral photos of Lagos Night Club owner, Pretty Mike who pays peanuts to girls just so he can put them on a leash and walk them around like a dog when he goes to events. And the comments on social media are coming in as expected....

Pregnant Nigerian woman and her children detained at a 'beggar home" in India



The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal,(pictured) came across gross violation of human rights during a surprise visit to a government-run 'beggar home' here and found over 15 foreign nationals, including a pregnant Nigerian woman and her two children, lodged there amid pathetic living conditions.


The DCW said it found violation of human rights of several inmates. After she spent a night at the beggar home at Nirmal Chaya Complex in Janakpuri on Tuesday, January 3, the DCW chief has now issued notices to the Social Welfare Department and Foreigner Regional Registration Office (FRRO) -- a government agency responsible for regulating the extended stay and movement of foreigners in India. Maliwal sought a reply from the FRRO and Social Welfare Department within 72 hours.
"Fifteen women and two children - all foreign nationals -- housed in the home... The DCW Chairperson met an Uzbek national who complained of molestation by FRRO officials," a DCW statement said.

"If you like bug my phone" - Wike says his govt will stand with dismissed police officers

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that the government and people of the state will stand with the six policemen illegally dismissed by the Police High Command for political reasons because they committed no crime known to law.

The policemen attached to the security team of the Governor were dismissed from the force over allegation of causing chaos during the December 10 legislative re-run election in the state. 

India police re-arrest Nigerian drug dealer who escaped from police custody


The anti-narcotics cell (ANC) of Mumbai police has re-arrested the Nigerian national, who escaped from police custody last week. See previous post here

According to The Times of India, the ANC and the crime branch had launched a manhunt to trace drug convict John Okoro and he was arrested from the Navi Mumbai area, from where he was planning to flee to Mangalore by a private bus.

Okoro, who resided in Koparkhairene in Navi Mumbai, was arrested in 2014 in a drug case. The court convicted him for a three-year jail term. Okoro was sent to Nashik central prison after conviction.

It's not the best of times for Ghana's new President, Nana Akufo-Addo. He's currently the butt of jokes across social media in Africa following a plagiarism scandal that has plagued his inaugural speech. Part of his inaugural speech on January 7, 2017 was found to have been lifted from a 1993 speech by President Bill Clinton of the United States.

Parts of the speech also seem to have been lifted from a speech by another US president John F. Kennedy made in 1961.

46-year-old man sentenced to 13 years in jail for raping two schoolgirls repeatedly for years


A part-time builder and DJ who raped two school girls repeatedly for years in London, has been sentenced by a Judge to 13 years in jail. Paul Francis (pictured) from Lewisham, was jailed for 13 years after pleading guilty to five sex assaults and four counts of rape.

Investigation was launched by police in September 2016 after one of the girls summed up the courage and told staff at her school about the attacks. The other younger girl was unable to speak about the terrible abuse but wrote a short note and drawing explaining what Francis had done.
