Akufo-Addo sworn in as president of Ghana

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of New Patriotic Party has been sworn in as the president of the Republic of Ghana.

He was led by the Chief Justice, Theodora Georgina Wood to take the oath of office before thousands of people and African leaders at the inaugural ceremony, which held at the Black Stars square today.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has now taken over from John Dramani Mahama.

On Friday, January 6, Michelle Obama gave her final remarks in an emotional speech as America's first lady. The event which held at the White house in celebration of the 2017 School Counselor of the Year, an emotional Michelle encouraged and thanked her supporters saying:
'Being your first lady has been the greatest honor of my life and I hope I've made you proud. I want our young people to know that they matter, that they belong. I will be with you, rooting for you and working to support you, for the rest of my life.'

Pastor Adeboye steps down as General Overseer for RCCG Nigeria, appoints new GO


Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has appointed a General Overseer for the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Nigeria. According to the 74 year old clergyman, Pastor Joseph Obayemi, will oversee the affairs of the church here in Nigeria. Obayemi was deputy in charge of Finance and a member of governing council, before his appointment.

Adeboye made the announcement during the church’s annual thanksgiving held at the 3km new auditorium today 7th January 2016.

Football club Chapecoense was all but wiped out in a devastating plane crash in Colombia last year.
But the Brazilian side has fresh hope for the future as they presented 27 new players signed to replace those tragically killed .

Almost all of the team's senior players were lost on doomed LaMia flight 2933, which came down on November 28.

The southern Brazilian club were en route to Medellin to face Atletico Nacional in the final of the Copa Sudamericana when the jet hit a mountain, killing 71 people.
Centre back Helio Neto and fullback Alan Ruschel survived, as did reserve goalkeeper Jackson Follmann, who had part of his leg amputated.

Police Arrest, Fly Journalist To Abuja Over Dana Facebook Post


Some plain-clothes policemen on Friday arrested and whisked to Abuja a journalist based in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Jerry Edoho.

The young journalist, who is the Deputy Editor of Ibom Nation Newspaper, a local publication, was arrested by the security operatives and forcibly taken to the Federal Capital over a post he allegedly put up on his Facebook page involving Dana Air.

Edoho, had while reacting to a photograph of a purported crash involving a Dana flight heading to Lagos from Abuja in which he was tagged, sought clarification from friends on his list to confirm the authenticity of the story.
