Former Abia state governor, Orji Uzor Kalu, yesterday paid a courtesy visit to the parents of imprisoned Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, Eze Sir. I. O. Kanu and lolo Ugoeze Nnenne Kanu. He visited them in their palace at Etitinabu Isiama Afara Ibeku in Umuahia North, Abia state. Outrage after Indian minister blames sexual assault in victims who 'dress like westerners'


During a New Year's Eve party in the Indian state of Bangalore, a mob allegedly carried out a string of sexual attacks which left many victims in its wake and the response of the man whose duty it is to police the region has sparked fury among Indians. 

Home minister G Parameshwara told The Times Now television network: 

'A large number of youngsters gathered - youngsters who are almost like westerners. They try to copy westerners not only in mindset, but even the dressing, so some disturbance, some girls are harassed, these kind of things do happen.'

Rusty scissors removed from man’s body after being forgotten by surgeons 18 years ago


Ma Van Nhat, a 54-year-old Vietnamese man, went to the hospital complaining of stomach pain, only for an ultrasound to reveal that a six-inch pair of scissors was lodged close to his colon.

Nhat had had surgery in 1998 after a car accident and having recovered from the surgery, went about his life, oblivious to the fact that a pair of scissors had been forgotten in his body.

Nigerian Army bans officers, soldiers from posting videos and pictures on social media


Authorities of the Nigerian Army yesterday banned its officers and soldiers on duty from posting videos and photos.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 1 Division Mechanized Army, Major-General Adeniyi Oyebade, gave the warning on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen. Tuikur Buratai, while speaking at the graduation ceremony of Men of Nigerian Battalion (NIBBAT) 46 which was held at the Nigerian Army Peace Keeping Centre (NAPKC), Jaji in Kaduna state.
