Photos: Man jailed for life after stabbing 22-year-old ex-girlfriend to death in senseless attack


A 37-year-old man who stabbed his 22-year-old ex-girlfriend to death in a senseless attack was on December 19th, sentenced to life imprisonment. 

Tapiwa Douglas Furusa, attacked Leigh-Anne Mahachi outside of her home in Spotswood Close, Gleadless Valley, Sheffield as she left for work on the morning of Tuesday 12 April





2 killed as Igbos, Fulanis clash in Enugu

Two people were killed yesterday during a fight between Fulani herdsmen and some Igbo traders at Gariki market in Enugu state. According to reports, the fight started after a herdsman identified as Ali came to an abattoir at the Market to slaughter a cow. He was charged N500 but paid N400 after he finished slaughtering his cow. The abattoir attendant identified as Ifeanyi Ifeacho asked for the N100 balance but Ali allegedly refused to pay.

The movie, ‘Collateral Beauty’ which will be in cinemas across Nigeria yesterday Friday, December 30, 2016, is directed by David Frankel and stars an ensemble cast of Will Smith, Edward Norton, Keira Knightley, Michael Pena, Naomie Harris, Jacob Latimore and Kate Winslet.

It’s a tough time in Nigeria’s civil service. The government money that sloshed through bureaucrats’ personal accounts until last year has dried up, leaving many facing a novel fate: They have to survive on their salaries.

Police foil plot to bomb Third Mainland Bridge, arrest suspect


The Nigerian police has arrested a man, Abiodun Amos aka Senti who is one of the leaders of a notorious militant group that operate in Ikorodu and Arepo areas of Lagos and Ogun states for was plotting, with some of his gang members who are currently at large, to bomb the Third Mainland Bridge, Lagos.
According to a statement released by Police Public Relations Officer, Don Awunah, a deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP, the gang leader, Abiodun Amos, said yesterday, that his group planned to bomb the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos in November because the Federal Government failed to consider its members for amnesty.
