Former Governor James Ibori To Be Freed From Gaol Today….

Today December 20th 2016,Former Gov Chief James Onanefe Ibori ,the Ogidigboegbo of Africa will be released from UK Prison where he had been initially sentenced to 13years for corruption and money laundering.
Nobody should come here and insult him,RIGHT!
He has paid for the crimes he was accused of….You all should go and pray that Nigerian has the guts to sentence other looters who are strutting around decorated with accolades and awards.

‘We Will Start Collecting Bribe’- FRSC Officials Threaten Over Unpaid Salaries

Some officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps have threatened to start obtaining bribe from motorists if they were not paid their November salaries and allowances before Christmas.
The aggrieved officials, who spoke with Punch, said the Federal Government had refused to offer any explanation for the non-payment.
An official, who identified himself only as Patrick, said the government had no excuse for refusing to pay them their salaries since the FRSC was a revenue-generating agency.
He said,

140 Nigerians Deported From Libya Regret Sojourn (Full Story)

No fewer than 140 Nigerians, who were deported from Libya, arrived in the country on Tuesday through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
The PUNCH learnt that the deportees, who arrived on board a Libyan Airline, were received by the Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency, Sani Sidi, who was represented by the South-West Coordinator of the agency, Dr. Onimode Bamdele.
Our correspondent gathered that while many of the deportees left for their various destinations, others left in two chattered BRT buses for the Synagogue Church of All Nations.
Three of the deportees, who had medical issues, were said to have been taken to a hospital, where they were admitted for treatment.

NLC Threatens Nationwide Strike If N56,000 Minimum Wage Is Not Implemented


The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has threatened a nationwide strike in May 1,2017 if the Federal Government does not begin implementation of the N56,000 new national minimum wage it proposed or even set up a committee to that effect.

This was made in a statement by Congress’ President, Mr. Ayuba Wabba during a meeting in Abuja.

“The issue of minimum wage remains sacrosanct because of the fact that by law and practice, the review is due and overdue. I have said clearly that we cannot guarantee any industrial peace any longer if necessary steps are not taken by government to try to resolve this issue before the next May Day.”

Imo: Retirees Protest 60% Pension Cut


Scores of pensioners on Tuesday marched along major streets of Owerri, the Imo capital to protest payment of only 40 per cent arrears of pension to retirees by the Imo Government.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the pensioners arrived at Orlu Road Roundabout Owerri, the take-off point of the protest, as early as 7.30 a.m. with placards.

Gideon Ezeji, Imo Chairman, National Union of Pensioners (NUP), who addressed the protesters said “the protest was to expose the sufferings of Imo pensioners under the administration of Gov. Rochas Okorocha.’’

Mr. Ezeji explained that six different categories of pensioners were owed between 22 months and 77 months by the state government.
