Police officer beheaded in Rivers state

A police officer identified as Alkali Mohammed was beheaded by some political thugs in Rivers state Saturday December 10th. Alkali who served during the state legislative rerun election Saturday, was beheaded during an ambush at Omoku, Onelga Local Government Area in the state.

DSP Alkali Mohammed was killed alongside two other officers during the Rivers state legislative rerun election yesterday December 10th. The election was marred by violence in some parts of the state. Five other police officers who served during the election are reportedly missing.

Minister of Environment, Amina Mohammed, set to be named deputy UN Secretary general

Minister of Environment, Amina Mohammed, is set to be named the next United Nations Deputy Secretary General. She is to serve under the new Secretary General, Antonio Guterres who will assume office on January 1st 2017. This is according to CBS's UN reporter, Pamela Falk.

Mohammed was appointed Minister of Environment by Pres Buhari in Nov. 2015. Congrats to her.

Corps members made to kneel down as punishnment at Abia state NYSC orientation camp

This morning, during parade rehearsals, some corp members in 9 Platoon got the platoon inspector annoyed and he punished them by kneeling them down for some time before releasing them. #Even graduates still get kindergarten punishments #

Two female suicide bombers kill 30 at Madagali market, Adamawa state, 67 injured

30 persons were killed and 67 injured after two teenage female suicide bombers blew themselves up at Madagali Market in Adamawa on Friday morning.

The spokesman of the 28th Task Force Battalion of the Army said two teen female suicide bombers sneaked into the bustling market and detonated themselves in the middle of it.

In a statement issued by Mr Sani Datti, Head of Media and Public Relations, NEMA, in Abuja, NEMA confirmed that the victims had been evacuated to Michika General Hospital for treatment.
