Edinburgh West MP tells story of how she was raped at 14


UK politician, Michelle Thompson, moved colleagues to tears when she told them that she was raped at the age of 14 by a man she knew.

She made this revelation in the House of Commons, telling them that the man who raped her was someone she knew and trusted and the incident occurred one evening when he offered to walk her home.

"He told me he wanted to show me something in a wooded area and at that point, I must admit, I was alarmed. I did have a warning bell - but I overrode that warning bell because I knew him and therefore there was a level of trust in place.” The former professional musician recounted. She recalled walking home afterwards crying and in shock.

Man, wife, children missing in Lagos boats mishap


A man, his wife and their children have been declared missing after two commercial boats capsized in Badagry, Lagos State yesterday night December 7th.‎ According to residents in the area, the family were heading home at night when the boat they boarded home collided with another one at Pathfinder and Gberefu areas of Badagry.

Two persons identified as the operators of the two boats survived the mishap.‎ Efforts are still on to find the missing family.

Late corps member, Oladepo Ifedolapo's body to be exhumed for autopsy - FG


Body of Oladepo Ifedolapo Racheal, the 2016 Batch 'B' (Stream I) National Youth Service Corps member, who died at the Kano State Orientation Camp will be exhumed for autopsy.

The Minister of Youths and Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung disclosed this on Thursday, while addressing State House correspondents Preliminary investigation by the National Youths Service Corps, said the First Class graduate of Transportation Management from Ladoke Akintola University Ogbomosho, died of a kidney infection.

According to Daily Trust, the sports minister explained that the independent investigation ordered by Buhari would require an autopsy to balance the government's conclusion on the incident.

Disturbing footage believed to have been taken earlier this year in West London has emerged of a policeman repeatedly punching a suspect in the back as other officers hold him down.

The video shows the shirtless suspect pinned to the ground by three policemen and yelling in pain as a fourth rains blows on him.

The man, who calls out in a foreign language at one point in the footage, shouts 'please, please, please' as the officers hold him down.

Iran jails twelve fashion bloggers and social media models for 'spreading prostitution and a Western-style culture of nudity'


Authorities in Iran have jailed eight women and four men for up to six years on a charge of 'spreading prostitution and a Western-style culture of nudity'.

They were also banned from working in the fashion industry and barred from going abroad after being sentenced in the Iranian city of Shiraz.

They were accused of 'encouraging prostitution' and 'promoting corruption' by publishing 'obscene' online and spreading a 'Western-style culture of nudity' that was designed to corrupt Muslims, the court heard.

They face jail terms of between five months and six years but their lawyer, Mahmoud Taravat said his clients denied the charges and are planning to appeal.
