Chairmanship Aspirant Dayo Israel seek better deal for Lagos youths during US tour, as he receives French investors support


An aspirant for the office of the Executive Chairman, Lagos Mainland Local Government, Mr Dayo Israel, has sought collaboration with United States politicians and investors for development projects targeted at young people and women in Lagos Mainland during his recent trip to the United States.

Dayo who recently organised a free 3 weeks vocational training program for over 6000 women and youths in his local government met with the State Representative (Legislature) for Cobbs County in the state of Georgia, 29- year-old Ms Erica Thomas to discuss potential partnerships between her constituency and Lagos Mainland youths, and is planning to host a two-way delegation of young professionals from Georgia to Lagos Mainland and vice-versa in the next few months.

Nigeria Police confirm the redeployment of Gov. Wike's Chief Security Officer


The Nigeria Police Force said that DSP Promise Nwosu, the Chief Security Officer (CSO) to Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, was redeployed as a result of his involvement in gross professional misconduct and apparent partisanship.

The Rivers State Government had earlier raised the alarm of plot to assassinate Governor Wike following the removal of the CSO.

A press release issued on Wednesday, December 7th and signed by Force Public Relations Officer, spokesperson, DCP Don Awunah, said the redeployment must not be misinterpreted" as the Police Force must not be drawn to direct partisan politics and acts that are inimical to peace and public order."

India doctor to operate on '500kg' Egyptian woman

An Egyptian woman, believed to be the world's heaviest woman at 500kg (1,102lb), will soon be flown to India for weight reduction surgery.Eman Ahmed Abd El Aty, 36, will be flown on a chartered plane to Mumbai where bariatric surgeon Dr Muffazal Lakdawala plans to operate.
The Indian embassy in Cairo initially denied her visa request as she was unable to travel there in person.
After the surgeon tweeted to India's foreign minister that changed.
India's External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, who is herself in hospital awaiting a kidney transplant, was quick to respond with an offer of help.

CCT bans politician from active politics for 3 years over his failure to declare his assets


Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) sitting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, has placed a 3 year ban on active politics on Ubong Joshua Etukudo, an ex- supervisory councillor of Ibesiko local government area, over his failure to submit his asset declaration form within the stipulated time.

Delivering judgment in a petition before it yesterday, the tribunal chairman, Danladi Yakubu Umar, (pictured above) said Etukudo is banned from participating in neither elective or selective political office. He ruled that the prosecution counsel proved his case beyond reasonable doubt, and that he was guilty of the offence as charged.

“The defendant having conceded to all what was said against him in the charge, that was truth by the witness from Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), the tribunal had no option than to summarily convict the defendant for the said charge and handed over the punishment of banning him not to be appointed to any position as public officer for the period of three years, both appointive and elective position,” he said.

Former Pres. Jonathan charges traditional rulers on peace


Former President Goodluck Jonathan Tuesday charged traditional rulers across the country not to shirk from their responsibility of working towards ensuring that peace reigns in their domains.
Jonathan gave this charge in Oporoza, Delta State at the official presentation of staff of office to His Royal Majesty, Oboro-Gbaran II, Aketekpe, the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, just as the Delta State Governor, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa described the former President as a man of peace who left good lessons for all Nigerians.
A statement issued by the former President’s Media Adviser, Ikechukwu Eze, said that Jonathan also urged the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom and other traditional rulers to galvanize their subjects for the social and economic development of their kingdoms.
