Bolaji Abdullahi Becomes New APC’s Spokesperson


Bolaji Abdullahi, a former Minister of Sports is now the new spokesperson of Nigeria’s governing All Progressives Congress, APC.

Mr. Abdullahi succeeds Lai Mohammed who was appointed Minister of Information by President Muhammadu Buhari. Both are from Kwara State.

Presidential Election: Gambia Bans Internet, International Phone Calls


As Gambians go to the polls today, the authorities have shut down the internet and have banned overseas telephone calls.

The BBC’s Umaru Fofana in the capital, Banjul, says post-election demonstrations have also been banned.

The reporter adds that this is the most tighly contested presidential election since President Yahya Jammeh came to power 22 years ago.

The president's main opponent is estate agent Adama Barrow, who has the backing of most opposition parties.

Teacher claims 7 year old he battered threw himself against wall


The teacher, Timothy Randall Korr, who was arrested and charged with child abuse, is now claiming the boy, Trayvon Grayson, 7, injured himself when he fell and “hit himself” on a wall.

Trayvon had a fractured jaw and had several of his teeth knocked out during the incident. Police claim Timothy threw the boy against a wall as he was taking him to the principal’s office for disciplinary reasons. And police have video footage of the beating...

Ukeme Asuquo Monday, a first class graduate of Petroleum Engineering from the University of Uyo, died at the NYSC Camp in Zamfara state after suffering from Diarrhea yesterday December 1st.
 
According to his friend, Victor Jerry Emah, Ukeme never wanted to go for service in Zamfara and said he was destabilized the moment he received his call-up letter. 12 Auchi polytechnic lecturers sacked for sleeping with their male students girlfriends in exchange for higher grades


12 lecturers at Auchi Polytechnic Edo state, have been sacked by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) after they were found guilty of giving high marks to their male students who offer them prostitutes or their girlfriends for sex. A report published in one of the National Dailies in April this year, exposed the activities of these randy lecturers. An investigative panel comprising of officials from EFCC, ICPC, NBTE, others was launched and after a thorough investigation, the lecturers were found guilty.

Executive secretary of NBTE, Masa’udu Kazaure, announced the sack of the lecturers at a press conference in Kaduna state today. He also disclosed that male students who can't offer their girlfriends or prostitutes for higher mark, were asked to pay bribe between N10,000 and N20,000.
