PDP Senators this morning staged a walkout from the chambers after one of them, Yale Omogunwa from Ondo state defected from PDP to APC this morning. The Senators are currently addressing senate correspondents. Garri goes from N200 to N100: Ekiti market woman leader forces down prices of foodstuffs in the state

A taskforce led by the President of the Market Women Association, Chief Omowaye Oso, yesterday stormed two major markets in Ekiti state, to force the reduction in the prices of food stuff in the state.

Oso and her team stormed the market after the market women increased the prices of their commodities by 100% blaming it on high dollar rate. Speaking to newsmen after the forceful reduction, Oso said;

American police use water spray, rubber bullets and other weapons on protesters

American law enforcement is currently engaged in a stand off with protesters at Standing Rock in North Dakota. The protesters are against a government  decision to build an oil pipeline called the Dakota Access Pipeline through their land which will involve environmental degradation and the displacement of local people majority of whom are Native Americans

Police have acknowledged using sponge rounds, bean bag rounds, stinger rounds, teargas grenades, pepper spray, Mace, Tasers and a sound weapon.

These dare devil armed robbers were killed during a shootout in Port-Harcourt on Monday November 28th. Some of the gang members were arrested while weapons such as GPMG, bullet chain, AK47 and 2 loaded magazines were recovered form them.

Chapecoense plane crash: How Brazilian coach's son cheated death after he forgot his passport

Coaches and players of Brazilian football club, Chapecoense were heading to the first of two matches in the final of the Copa Sudamericana, on Monday night when their chartered aircraft crashed south of Medellin, a muddy Colombian hillside, killing 71 of the 77 people aboard.

Only three players were among the survivors. But one man had luck by his side. Matheus Saroli, whose father Caio Junior, 51, was one of the victims of the tragic crash, got saved -- thanks to his forgotten passport. Saroli made the revelation in a Facebook post:
