Victor Moses on fire as Chelsea comes back from goal down to defeat Tottenham 2-1 (photos)


Nigerian winger Victor Moses scored Chelsea's winner against London rivals Tottenham on Saturday night after Chelsea suffered a scare, after conceding from a Christian Eriksen effort in the first half.

Eriksen shocked Antonio Conte's men in the 11th minute with a thunderous drive, but Chelsea had other plans for the visitors as Pedro equalized with a curling effort before half time.

Abducted former Foreign Affairs minister, Bagudu Hirse, regains his freedom


Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bagudu Hirse, who was kidnapped in Kaduna state on Sunday November 20th, has regained his freedom six days after his abduction. Hirse was rescued by security operatives in Kaduna state this morning.

Confirming this development, the spokesman of the Kaduna Police Command, Aliyu Usman, said he was hale and hearty when he was rescued and has been reunited with his family.

Usman added that no ransom was paid to secure his release. Hirse was abducted by three masked men outside the home of President Buhari’s nephew, Mamman Daura, at Inuwa Road in Kaduna Metropolis.

Human Rights lawyer, Fred Agbaje, dies in London

Frontline Human Rights lawyer and activist, Fred Agbaje, has died. He died today November 26th at a London hospital. Family sources say he had been in coma for close to two weeks before eventually passing on today. Unfortunately, he wasn't made a SAN before he died. May his soul rest in peace Amen.

Hilary Clinton campaign announces it will join vote recount efforts

Hillary Clinton's campaign said Saturday it will take part in efforts to push for recounts in several key states, joining with Green Party candidate Jill Stein, who has raised millions of dollars to have votes counted again in Wisconsin.
But, in a post on Medium, Marc Elias, the campaign's counsel, said the campaign's own investigation has not uncovered any evidence of hacking of voting systems.
 
In the campaign's most detailed comments to date on the recount, Elias wrote that while the campaign was not going to contest the results itself, it has decided now to take part in the effort to "ensure that it is fair to all sides."
But President-elect Donald Trump on Saturday dismissed the recount and said that "the election is over."

Interpol re-arrests son of Adamawa Chief of Staff, Suleiman Abba Jimeta


Operatives of the International Police, INTER-POL, have reportedly re-arrested the first son of the Chief of Staff to Adamawa State Governor, Abdurrahman Abba Jimeta.

Suleiman Abba Jimeta, Alias Babajo, was earlier arraigned alongside four others for burglary and car theft and then released on bail.

The five suspects believed to be involved in cross border crimes, have been accused of stealing $10,000 and a Toyota Avalon car from the residence of one Umaru Fali, a hotelier in Yola and then sold the stolen car to their accomplice in Niger Republic.

Although four of the suspects have confessed to the crime, Jimeta insist he is innocent. Jimeta was arrested following a petition from his victim, Umaru. Spokesperson of the Adamawa Police Command, Othman Abubakar, confirmed the arrest and said Interpol had taken over the case.

Ondo Election Turns Bloody As APC Chieftain Is KILLED


Mr Afolabi Olaposi, a chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC)  in Owo, Ondo State, was on Thursday night killed by unknown gunmen in Owo.
The Party said in a statement issued by its Publicity Secretary, Mr Abayomi Adesanya, on Friday in

Akure that Olaposi was shot dead on his way home after attending a meeting of the party in preparation for the governorship election.

“Olaposi, who is one of the leaders of our party in Igboroko Ward 1, Owo, was also an ardent supporter of our Governorship Candidate, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN).

“He was a perfect gentleman who was committed to the development of the party in Owo and Ondo State in general.

“The assailant also went to the house of Chief Jamiu Ekungba, an APC aspirant in the Sept. 3 Primary, and vandalised seven vehicles in his compound.
