'I will ensure 2017 budget is not padded' - Pres Buhari

The distortions that happened to Budget 2016, in which series of rogue projects and figures were injected into the financial document won't happen to next year's budget, President Buhari has vowed. Receiving in audience members of the Governance Support Group (GSG), led by Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, at State House, Abuja, Friday, the President said:
"I am waiting for the 2017 Budget to be brought to us in Council. Any sign of padding anywhere, I will remove it."
President Buhari re-iterated that he had been in government since 1975, variously as governor, oil minister, head of state, and Chairman of the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF), "and never did I hear the word 'padding' till the 2016 Budget."
He promised that such would never happen again under his watch.
The President said the government stands by its tripod campaign promises of securing the country, reviving the economy, and fighting corruption, but lamented that some people are deliberately turning blind eyes to prevailing realities in the country.

Fayose Storms Ekiti For Jegede

The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, on Thursday, asked the people of Ondo State to protect their votes ahead of Saturday’s governorship election in the state.

Fayose spoke in Akure during a rally held at the Democracy Park along the Oba Adesida Road shortly after the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), arrived in Akure.

Fayose, who joined Jegede during the campaign tour of the state capital, said the PDP would resist any attempt to rig the poll.
The governor led the supporters in solidarity songs with the cheering crowd.

He alleged that the Federal Government was planning to rig the election for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN).

Obasanjo Is Grandfather Of Corruption -Reps

For describing the National Assembly as being peopled by a gang of unarmed robbers, the House of Representatives has lashed out at ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, calling him the grandfather of corruption.

The Reps described Obasanjo as the most corrupt Nigerian that ever held a public office, adding that he, however, saw himself as the only clean human being.

Specifically, the House called Obasanjo the “grandfather of corruption” in Nigeria.

It added that a reason Obasanjo would never like the members of the National Assembly was the fact that they foiled his third term ambition in 2007 after taking his money and displaying it publicly to put him to shame.

After Fighting Dirty Yesterday Online, FFK Comes For Jimoh Ibrahim Again, Tells Him ‘You Will Be In Jail In 2019’

Oh dear! After Femi Fani-kayode and Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim slugged it out yesterday online calling each other unprintable names, the duo have taken to twitter again to fight DIRTY. Though it was started by the former minister, FFK. He went online shortly after the Supreme court dismissed Jimoh Ibrahim’s case today, saying Eyitayo Jegede remains PDP’s candidate in Ondo, and not fat, ugly Jimoh Ibrahim. Some of you read the messy tweets yesterday but these are fresh ones. Among what FFK had accused Jimoh Ibrahim off, was that he is a ritualist, he engages in sodomy activities and he needs to amend his anus fast. He also said everything he touches turns to sh*ts. Jimoh however replied the former minister today as well, saying if you want to get FFK, the only thing you need to do is give him food and he will dance for you. He concluded by asking him, saying how many plates of jollof rice do i need to give you before you dance for me
