Exclusive: Police charge Seun Egbegbe to court for phone theft at Ikeja, Lagos


Movie Producer Seun Egbegbe was on Tuesday Nov 22nd arrested at Computer village, Ikeja for allegedly stealing 9 iPhones. According to reports, Seun attempted to escape from the shop with the phones, allegedly telling the sales girl that he was coming back. He left, crossed the road and entered into a waiting taxi. The sales girl who claimed she was hypnotized, said she came back to her senses and raised an alarm. Some Traders chased and caught up with Seun, beat him up before finally handing him over to the police.

Arsenal on Wednesday night played out a disappointing 2-2 draw with PSG last night after Nigerian star Alex Iwobi got in the way of David Ospina and diverted the ball into the back of the net.

A win for Arsenal would have ensured Arsene Wenger's men top the group comfortably, but after Iwobi's own goal, PSG can now qualify as top leaders in the group with a win in their next game.

Iwobi, for the first time ever, didn't have a good game and upon being substituted, looked very sorrowful on the bench, but his teammates rallied around him and supported him.

Residents of Githurai 44 area in Nairobi, Kenya are still reeling from shock after a couple committed suicide on Tuesday morning, November 22. The couple left a suicide note requesting that they be buried together.
According to reports, Esther Muthoni took her life first and few hours later, her husband Simon Maina Kiarie, killed himself.
Simon had called his brother to inform him that his wife had committed suicide and that he needed to rush to the house immediately.
"After calling his brother he committed suicide, by the time his brother arrived at the house, he found his body hanging next to that of the wife,"  Kiambu OCPD Duncan Ngutu said.

Man who set pregnant girlfriend on fire 'because she is beautiful' sentenced to 18 years in prison

A man who set his heavily pregnant girlfriend on fire was on Wednesday, November 23, sentenced to 18 years in prison.

Prosecutors had requested a 15-year sentence against Paolo Pietropaolo, 40, who set 38-year-old Carla Ilenia Caiazzo, alight on February 1, 2016 while she was eight months pregnant. 

The incident took place in the street in front of the couple's home in the town of Pozzuoli, near Naples. 

Pietropaolos was arrested same day at Formia, between Naples and Rome, where he had a car accident subsequently told prosecutors he could have killed her, but wanted to ruin her face instead because she was beautiful.

Madonna's Son Arrested For Possessing Cannabis


Madonna's teenage son Rocco Ritchie has been arrested in a drugs bust.  Rocco was caught in possession of cannabis after neighbours reportedly called police on the troubled teen.

The 16-year-old, whose father is director Guy Ritchie, was seen 'smoking or doing drugs' near his Primrose Hill home in North London.

Sources told the Sun that Rocco was seen tossing something away as police approached him in Steeles Mews North, Camden.

When officers noticed traces of cannabis on his clothes they searched him and found a small quantity of the drug. We was then arrested.

I Acquired 95% Of My Wealth Before I Entered Politics, Saraki Tells BBC


Senate president, Bukola Saraki, has told the BBC Hausa service that he acquired 95% of his wealth before he entered politics. Recall he is currently under investigation on allegations of falsely declaring assets when he was governor of Kwara state.
Mr Saraki acknowledged that there was corruption in the country, but said his wealth was a result of coming from a blessed family and hard work.
He said he was confident that he would be cleared of the charges against him and he would continue to serve in public office. 

The senator also said he had not evaded tax - an accusation highlighted in the Panama Papers. His wife also appeared in those documents accused of registering a company offshore to buy a London property.
