EFCC re-arraigns Jide Omokore, 5 Others for diversion of $1.6bn

Chairman of Atlantic Energy Brass Development Limited and Atlantic Energy Drilling Concept Limited, Jide Omokore, was yesterday November 21st re-arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, before Justice Nnamdi Dimbga of a Federal High Court in Abuja. He was re-arraigned along with Victor Briggs, Abiye Membere, David Mbanefo, Atlantic Energy Brass Development Limited and Atlantic Energy Drilling Concepts Limited.

 They were re-arraigned on a nine-count amended charge, of criminal diversion of about $1.6 billion alleged to be proceeds of petroleum products belonging to the federal government.

Justin Bieber on Monday visited Barcelona's Ciutat Esportiva Sant Joan Despi training complex and engaged in a training session with Barca stars, Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr, Luis Suarez, Rafinha and others. The Canadian singer did some shooting drills, crossing practice and took some penalties.

Prostitutes set their camp ablaze while fighting over a loyal customer

Two prostitutes fighting over the ownership of a customer’s private part at the Liberia camp in Buduburam, Ghana, reportedly set the camp ablaze during a heated fight. The incident which occurred on Monday, about 4am, saw one of the prostitutes leaving her cigarette on her bed which ignited the fire while she was fighting with another over who will spend the night with a loyal customer.

Narrating the ugly scene to Adom News, a witness said:

‘At dawn, I saw two prostitutes fighting over a customer. Each of them was claiming ownership of his manhood. During the fight, one of them left the cigarette on a bed sheet that ignited the fire.’

This prankster of a boyfriend named Derek Deso, threw two snakes on top of his girlfriend who was sleeping and then asked her not to move. He said: “Baby, don’t move. There are two ginormous snakes on your butt!”

The YouTube user orchestrated the stunt with his friends who filmed and caught the nasty moment on camera. The girlfriend, unable to move as the snakes slithered over her body, started screaming her lungs out, begging them to please remove the snakes, "Get them off me!" she screams, louder and louder in distress while everyone else laughed at her. 21 year old charged for pouring acid on his18 year old girlfriend

Ghanaian man identified as Stephen Donkor has been charged for pouring acid on his 18 year old girlfriend, after she threatened to leave him. The 21 year old who appeared at an Accra court today,  was remanded in police custody by the presiding Judge, Mr James Kojo Botah who charged him with attempted murder of his girlfriend, Mary Oforiwaa.

According to Ghana web, the prosecutor’s case which was brought forward in court indicated that Oforiwaa who is a trader had been threatening to end their relationship over suspicious feeling,  his boyfriend was cheating on her.

Speaking in court, prosecutor Gregory Yeboah told the court that on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at about 10pm; the pair had a serious misunderstanding after Donkor returned from work to meet no food in the house.  At about 1am the next day, the prosecutor said Donkor went for the acid which he hid under a kiosk and poured it on the victim who was fast asleep.

A Chinese bride was on November 16, 2016, left to marry “alone” in Guizhou province of southwest China, as her groom who is part of the special unit of local police department, chose to compete in a SWAT exercise contest instead of showing up for their wedding ceremony.

According to the state’s local newspaper report, the bride and her husband-to-be had set up the wedding plan a month ahead of their big day, the groom was then, reportedly assigned to take part in the SWAT exercise competition of his force on his wedding day, and he accepted the arrangement.

The groom is said to be part of the special unit of local police department, in China.

The wife told the newspaper that she is proud of her husband and will carry on the wedding ceremony even though her husband to be couldn’t make it.

Presidency hints Pres Buhari may run for a second term in 2019

Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Shehu Garba, this evening hinted that President Buhari may run for a second term in 2019.

In a statement released Monday, Shehu said President Buhari Nigerians will not desert him come 2019. Garba said this in reaction to a statement made by Buba Galadima, a member of the defunct CPC, a party where President Buhari was a member. ‎Galadima had over the weekend said Nigerians would desert President Buhari during the 2019 election. Garba Shehu has dismissed suggestions that the masses will desert President Buhari in 2019 as unfounded and utterly ridiculous, and asserted that ordinary Nigerians are the backbone of his mandate and the only reason he ran for the office is to protect them against the rapacious merchants of corruption, who have held Nigeria back for decades. Reacting to allegations by a former CPC member, Alhaji Buba Galadima that President Buhari would be abandoned by the people in 2019, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, said Galadima's calculation and prediction is utterly confused and misleading.
