First Female US Attorney General Janet Reno Dies

The first woman to be US attorney general, Janet Reno, has died at home in Miami from complications linked to Parkinson's disease.
Ms Reno, 78, was at the centre of several political crises while serving under President Bill Clinton between 1993 and 2001.
She was criticised for a deadly raid on the Branch Davidian cult compound in Waco, Texas after just weeks in office.
Sect leader David Koresh and some 80 followers were killed during the raid.

Questions were asked afterwards about the legality of the FBI raid and why it was that so many people were killed.
Ms Reno survived the aftermath of the raid to become the longest-serving attorney-general in the 20th Century from 1993-2001 - and one of President Clinton's most trusted cabinet members.
She also continued to work despite being diagnosed in 1995 with Parkinson's disease, which caused trembling in both her arms.
After Waco, Ms Reno played a role in some of the more high-profile controversies and scandals that rocked the Clinton administration

Photos: Suspended lawmaker, Abdulmumin Jibrin wins anti-corruption award in London

Suspended lawmaker, Abdulmumin Jibrin, over the weekend won the African Voice Leadership in Legislative Governance Awards 2016 for his commitment to legislative duties and fight against corruption in Nigeria. The award took place at the Banqueting Venue, London on Saturday and he was accompanied by his wife Maryam.
Speaking after receiving the award, Jibrin said

“Thank you African Voice Newspaper for this award. The award is a huge morale booster because it is coming at a very difficult and challenging period. It’s a period I had to leave my post as Appropriation chairman of the House of Representatives, suspended through subterranean means by Speaker Yakubu Dogara and received several threats to my life by the highly placed public officials I accused of corruption. My offence is disagreeing with some corrupt leaders of the House including the Speaker over the 2016 budget fraud and insisting that the right thing must be done,  exposing individual and systemic corruption in the House and rejecting immunity for Principal officers of the House.

After FBI clears Hillary Clinton of criminality Donald Trump still says 'Hillary is guilty, she knows it!

FBI Director James Comey has revealed that the agency will not pursue criminal charges against U.S presidential candidate Hillary Clinton barely a day to the elections, after shocking the American public last month when he sent a letter to Congress saying the FBI had discovered emails that could be connected to the now-closed probe of whether Clinton mishandled classified information while secretary of State.
"Based on our review, we have not changed our conclusions that we expressed in July," Comey wrote in the new letter to congressional committee chairmen.
According to Comey, the FBI won't be going through with investigation of Hillary Clinton as they've searched through thousands of emails found during the FBI's separate investigation into a sexting incident by Anthony Weiner, the estranged husband of top Clinton aide Huma Abedin.

Obama comes to the defence of elderly Trump supporter who was being heckled by pro-Hillary crowd (Photos)

President Obama while on the campaign trail for Hillary, proved he is a true leader as he came to the defence of an elderly Trump supporter who was being harassed by Hillary supporters. During the rally, the crowd kept interrupting him to scream at the elderly Trump supporter who appeared to be a military veteran but the president was having none of it and told the crowd to show some respect.
'Hey,' Obama said several times, trying to get his audience back. 'Listen up.'
As rally-goers continued to defy him, Obama grew angrier and angrier, eventually demanding that attendees of the Hillary Clinton campaign event sit down and be quiet.

Priest says Italy quakes was a ‘Divine Punishment’ for gay civil unions

Italy has suffered some of its worst earthquakes in years leaving hundreds dead and thousands homeless. A catholic priest, Father Giovanni Cavalcoli said the natural disasters are 'divine punishment' for same-sex civil unions 'offending the family' and the 'dignity of marriage'.
He made the comments on radio on the day central Italy was hit by a 6.6 quake, its worst in 36 years. It was the third major quake in the same region in just over two months. Radio Maria where the priest made outrageous claim has hurriedly distanced itself from his comments and the Vatican has hit out at the views, saying the idea of a vengeful God was 'a pagan vision' dating from 'the pre-Christian era'.

Archbishop Angelo Becciu, number two in the Vatican's powerful Secretariat of State, said Cavalcoli's comments were 'offensive to believers and disgraceful for non-believers', he also asked the forgiveness of quake victims and told them they had the 'solidarity and support' of Pope Francis.
The offending priest has however stuck to his guns.

He insisted on another radio station that earthquakes were indeed caused by 'the sins of man' and told the Vatican to 'read their catechism'.
Legislation in Italy allowing gay civil partnerships was brought in last month, making it the last country in Western Europe to legally recognise same-sex relationships.
