EFCC arrests former presidential spokesperson, Reuben Abati

EFCC operatives have arrested former media aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reuben Abati. He was arrested today and he is being interrogated for allegedly receiving some money from former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki who is currently being tried for misappropriation of $2.1 billion arms procurement fund. ‎Abati is expected to spend the night at the EFCC office today.

APC accepts responsibility for ailing economy, promises to fix it


After months of blaming PDP for the current state of the economy, APC government today took responsibility for the economy, promising to find a solution to the current crises.

Speaking after a closed door meeting President Buhari had with all APC governors at the state house Abuja today, Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha, said ‎

"We must take responsibility and we must never shift the responsibility to anybody. We are responsible for everything happening in Nigeria. The good, the bad, the ugly but we are promising Nigerians that we shall fix it. We share the pains of Nigerians, every human being must feel it. We also feel what they are going through but we are asking for a little patience let us do things the right way and do it once and for all.”

Aftermath of Mosul offensive: ISIS militants fleeing to Syria as coalition forces close in


Hundreds of ISIS fighters are fleeing ISIS stronghold in Mosul, Iraq to neighboring Syria as coalition forces (Kurdish fighters, Peshmerga fighters, paramilitaries and U.S troops) closed in on Mosul, a powerful tribal leader revealed to CNN on Monday.


Sheikh Abdullah Alyawer, a tribal leader in the town of Rabia, on Iraq's border with Syria, revealed ISIS militants scared for their livesand their families were fleeing the city each day, and crossing into Syria at Ba'aaj, an ISIS-controlled crossing point south of Sinjar.
The route was entirely under ISIS control, he said, while fleeing civilians with no affiliation to ISIS usually ended up in the Syrian town of al Houl, which is under Kurdish control.

Man gets rescued after climbing inside a waste bin and getting stuck


The police had to be alerted when stunned locals in the town of Murcia, south-eastern Spain, heard a voice coming from a tiny rubbish bin. It turned out that there was a man inside, a Romanian, who had climbed in, apparently mistakenly, thinking it contained old clothes he could take.

According to reports, passers-by, who heard the man calling for help, initially ignored it, suspecting it was a candid camera stunt, but eventually somebody called the police, who turned up and confirmed that it wasn’t a stunt and that the man was indeed trapped in the bin.

“Released Chibok Girls Need Psychological Rehabilitation" – Pope Francis



Pope Francis 1, leader of the Catholic Church worldwide, has said the 21 Chibok girls released from Sambisa forest need psychological evaluation conducted by experts.

Pope Francis who made this statement through his representative, President of Pontifical Mission Societies (Nigeria), Rev. Fr. George Ajana, during this year’s World Mission Sunday, at Our Lady Queen of Nigeria Pro-Cathedral, Area 3, Abuja, said;

 “The release of the 21 Chibok girls is victory, it is a very good sign and we are thanking God for it that some of the Chibok girls were released. Nigerians have been celebrating all this while, the church joins them in the celebration and we are one with them.

I am not ashmaed to say I am 32 years old- Actress Lydia Forson says in her birthday message

Lydia who is a year older today, wrote a warm birthday message to herself where she stated that she is not ashamed to say she is 32 years old and will not be made to think that she is running out of time. She wrote;
"I’m 32 years old today- yes- let me spell it out for you 32. I’m not going to let anyone shame me into thinking I shouldn’t say this out loud, or believe that it’s a sign that I’m running out of time, for what I do not know. 
Because for many instead of looking at age as a thing of pride we’ve shrouded it in negativity. I lost a friend this morning to cancer and it just dawned on me that she didn’t get to have this opportunity.

Lagos state government arraigns suspected kidnappers of traditional ruler, Oniba of Iba

The Lagos state government today arraigned the suspected kidnappers of the Oniba of Iba, before the Lagos High Court Igbosere. The Four suspects namely Duba Furejo, Ododomo Isaiah, Reuben Anthony and Yerin Fresh are accused of kidnapping the monarch in Iba on July 16th. The 73 year old monarch was later released after three months with his kidnappers.
