Start searching for oil in Benue state- Pres. Buhari orders NNPC



Three weeks after ordering NNPC officials to go and search for oil in the Northern region, President Buhari has again directed NNPC to begin the search for crude oil and gas from the Benue Trough.

Update: Venue of PDP convention in Port Harcourt sealed off by Police



The Nigerian Police have sealed off Shark stadium, venue of the proposed PDP National Convention. Two court injunctions by Justice Okon Abang ruled that the convention must not hold. Roads leading to old presidential Lodge where the governors are accommodated have reportedly been blocked.

Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton has a 25-point lead on her Republican rival Donald Trump according to a recent US election poll. A four-way race between Clinton, Trump, Gary Johnson and Jill Stein from pollster Siena on Real Clear Politics on 15 August puts the Democrat candidate on 50 points to Trump's 25, with Johnson on 9 and Stein on 6, with the same race by Elway Poll showing Clinton on 43, Trump with 24, Johnson on 7 and Stein with 4.
